Clementine!

Hey kids!
We've only just begun Clementine by Sara Pennypacker and I know you are loving it. I decided to see if there were more Clementine books - and there are! Here is a list of the Clementine books:

Clementine (first book)
Talented Clementine (second)
Clementine's Letter (third - available in April 2008)

I'll try to get copies of them for us to read. Look for them at the public library!

Happy weekend! Hope to see you at the Fall Festival on Saturday!
Love,
Mrs. B

For Parents...

Hi Parents!

So sorry a newsletter didn't make it on Monday. I'm sure you've heard about my weekend mishap. If not, read the post below. It makes doing everything much more difficult.

Here is some important information for you.

Picture money is due by Monday, 10/22.

AR Goals are in each student's agenda. Instead of a points goal, we are having a percent correct goal and a # of tests per week goal. Look for an AR print out on Friday that lists all the tests your child took this week. It will have a sticker on it - Met Goal(s) or Did Not Meet Goal(s).

Conferences are this week. Thanks for those parents who have come to discuss their child with me! I look forward to meeting with everyone. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, please get in touch with me ASAP.

A new newsletter WILL come home this Friday, October 19th. Thanks for your continued support!

Can you believe it?!?!

Ok, I know we are studying the skeleton - but I didn't plan to break a tiny bone in my wrist just for you guys! I fell when I was roller skating with my family on Saturday. They took X-Rays and gave me this lovely, big, black splint. Writing is very hard. Yes, it hurts. No, I won't take off the splint so you can see my arm. There is nothing to look at anyway.

Here is a lovely picture for you to enjoy! You will have to help me a lot the next few days and weeks. I'm not supposed to carry anything with my right hand. What will YOU do to help me?

These are the songs we have used in school. Of course, be careful on sites like YouTube - you never know when something might come up that isn't meant for kids!

Guess what!?!?!

We have a project to do! We need to fill out a survey for The Great Mail Race! It is from a third grade class in CT. There is some information on the bulletin board in the hallway. How does their class compare to ours? What can we learn from the data?
